EVEN ADELE WAS SHOCKED WHEN SHE BEAT BEYONCE IN THE BEST ALBUM CATEGORY AT THE GRAMMYS. “I CAN’T POSSIBLY ACCEPT THIS AWARD,” SHE SAID AS SHE BROKE IT IN TWO. SHE DID ACCEPT IT IN THE END, BUT THE ISSUE REIGNITED CLAIMS THE GRAMMYS ARE RACIST.

Adele took home the top honours, winning Album of the Year for 25 and Song and Record of the Year for "Hello" at the 2017 Grammy Awards. The British singer won five Grammys including Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance. But the night was shared with Beyoncé who won two — best music video for Formation and best urban contemporary album for Lemonade.
DEV PATEL
Indian-origin British actor Dev Patel won the BAFTA Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Lion last week. Known for his performance in Slumdog
Millionaire, Dev was nominated with greats including Aaron Taylor-Johnson ( Nocturnal
Animals). Now a proven actor, critics certainly did not jump the gun when they Patel is rising fast and could win the Oscars.

Minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju has done it again. His tweet ‘Hindu population is reducing in India because Hindus never convert people’ as a rebuttal Congress quip ‘Modi government is trying to convert Arunachal Pradesh into a Hindu state’ sparked off controversy. The tweet is surely music for the RSS ears. Though parties raised hue and cry, the Mos is sure to get away again.

Vyapam whistleblower Ashish Chaturvedi on Tuesday said he would move the court pleading to free him of the “mental agony” caused by “24x7 camera surveillance, he has been put under by police. His decision came a day after the Supreme Court cancelled MBBS degrees of 634 doctors who had adopted unfair means to get admission into various medical colleges in MP during 2008-2012, infamously known as Vyapam scam.
LEE JAE-YONG
Samsung’s heir apparent Lee Jae-yong has been placed under arrest in South Korea, accused of bribery and other charges. The case is linked to a scandal that led to the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye. Samsung is accused of giving donations to non-profit foundations operated by Choi Soon-sil, a friend of Ms Park, for favours.
