AIRLINES’ BAN

-

I think that airlines did a good job by barring Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad from flights (Airlines cut

MP’s wings, March 25). The Centre should take up the case against the MP as he attacked a 60-year-old staffer of Air India at the New Delhi airport. The Lok Sabha Speaker must think of suspending the MP from Parliament. It is surprising that the MP has threatened to sue the AI staffer instead of apologising. Mohammed Wasif Ali Secunderabad Hats off to airlines for barring Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad. But this is not an adequate punishment for what he has done. Imagine this man becoming a minister one day. His membership of Parliament needs to be revoked, and he has to be tried for misuse of privileges. R.E.C. Johnson Hyderabad Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad has not learnt any lesson even after the Federation of India Airlines banned him from flying on their carriers. Now, he has threatened to sue Air India and its staffer. It is surprising that the victim’s colleagues didn’t protect him. Jyotsna Prasad Hyderabad The Lok Sabha Speaker said that she could not take action against the MP as the incident happened outside the House. Would she have taken this stand if an Air India staffer had hit the MP? Mohanraj Jhawar Hyderabad What airline companies have done in the case of the MP who assaulted an officer of Air India is not enough. No amount of justifications can absolve him of this crime. The Human Rights Commission should step in and do what is right. K.A. Joseph Nizamabad
