Staff accuses panel of over-allotment to TS

The bifurcation of employees between Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh has run into trouble again.

TS employee associations have complained to the Centre and state governments that the Kamalnathan Committee had so far allocated over 24,000 employees to TS, while as per population ratio, it should get only 23,000.

They alleged that the committee had sanctioned AP-native staff to TS in excess of over 1,200 and demanded that the TS government does not give them posting orders.

While the committee had so far allocated 56,000 staff to both the states, AP got 32,000 and TS 24,000. “Among 23,000 employees required to be allotted to TS, there are nearly 10,000 staff who are APnative. Even after this, the committee is allotting 1,200 more APnative staff in excess of the mandated number as per the population,” an official alleged.

“We have given repeated representations to the Kamalnathan committee to rectify the discrepancies but no action has been taken. Some officials overseeing the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act are helping APnative staff get postings in Hyderabad. The committee is biased towards the APnative staff. We will file a complaint with the Centre’s department of personnel and training on irregularities in allocation,” said A. Padma Chary, the president of Telangana Udyogula Sangham.

They also complained that the AP government was not giving postings to employees allocated to AP and sending them back to TS.

They said the committee had allotted 45 employees in health department to AP but it was not giving them postings besides another 42 section officers in Secretariat who were allotted to AP but did not get posting so far.

TS employees said the Centre should inquire over all the allotments.
