AICC begins filling of posts
Digvijay invites top TPCC leaders to Delhi
AICC general-secretary Digvijay Singh and secretary R.C. Kuntia have convened a meeting with top TPCC leaders on Thursday in New Delhi to finalise the District Congress Committee presidents, an exercise that has been long overdue.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Leaders of the Opposition in the Assembly and Council K. Jana Reddy and Mohd. Ali Shabbir and PCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka have been invited to the meeting.
However, the exercise to fill the vacant post of the Hyderabad City Congress president will be taken next week, according to sources. The post has been lying vacant for over a year now, following the resignation of former minister Danam Nagender
During his recent visit to Hyderabad, Mr Singh met various party leaders in the state and consensus on nearly 20 districts emerged.
In view of impending October deadline for the Congress to complete its organisational elections, the AICC finally stepped in to complete the appointments of DCC presidents in one go.
Apart from appointing DCC presidents, the meeting will also discuss and finalise the party membership drive and elections for TPCC and AICC delegates as per the organisation’s election schedule. CONSENSUS REACHED ON DCC PRESIDENTS FOR THE FOLLOWING DISTRICTS
