1 held for posts on social media

Adilabad: The Utnoor police booked cases against four persons and arrested one of them on Saturday for posting a derogatory photograph hurting the religious sentiments of a community, on a social networking site. This is the first case registered under the Information Technology (IT) Act. Cops registered cases under sections under 153 (A), 295(A) and 505/2 IPC and also under Section 66 of the Act 2000. Police arrested G. Ravinder, 32, of Utnoor, who posted a derogatory photograph on the social networking site and registered cases against R. Narayana, Sreenu Naik and Ushasri who commented on the post.
