FISH RAINS FROM SKY, COVERS SCHOOL IN U.S.

Washington, May 20: It may rain cats and dogs in several places but in Oroville, US, it rains fish.

In the Northern California town of Oroville, a storm cloud covered the sky over an elementary school on Tuesday and rained fish.

A school staff member confirmed the news to The Sacramento Bee. The school staff initially thought the smelly storm was just a prank. Hundreds of tiny fish were strewn on the roofs and throughout the campus. But during recess, the storm cloud again burst, causing people on the playground to be pelted by the wet fish, KDVR reported.

While rare, the phenomenon is not completely outlandish. A state fish biologist said thunderstorms and wind spouts can sometimes pick up small fish from a waterway and dump them. — Agencies
