PARADE GROUND

The CM should realise that there are vast open spaces on the outskirts of Hyderabad to build a new secretariat (City rallies to save Parade Grounds, May 20). Building the secretariat on the outskirts is logical as it has been done in many cities like Bhubaneswar. I request the CM to spare Parade Ground and locate the secretariat on the outskirts to save the city from congestion and to bring development to the city’s outskirts. Chandrasekhar Rao lobbied in New Delhi to acquire the Parade Ground for constructing the new secretariat, ignoring public sentiments. Vaastu is not supported by science. Sacrificing the city’s only lung space and billions in public funds for vaastu is not justifiable. The Chief Minister must respect public sentiments.
