Don’t want to fight own leader, MP statement says

- DC CORRESPONDENT

In a stunning U-turn on the Hafeezpur land purchase issue, TRS MP K. Kesava Rao on Wednesday said that he has advised his family members to cancel the sale deeds and get the money recovered back from the vendors as he doesn’t want to fight against the his own government and his leader (the Chief Minister).

Mr Kesava Rao’s statement came in after CM held a review meeting with officials on Tuesday on all the allegations of land scams surfaced recently and announcing all the registrations done in the disputed lands including Hafeezpur, as null and void and firmly declared there are all government lands.

The MP now said that he doesn’t want to get dragged into the ‘muddy deal’ any more. “My family members got the lands in Hafeezpur village of Ibrahimpatnam registered through a court direction. The government still holds the view that the said lands belong to the state. Therefore, no mutation of the land was affected. In view of this I am advising my family members not to get further involved in this muddy deal and get back their consideration money by cancelling the sale deed from the vendors Virgo Global Media Ltd. who explicitly indemnified that there was no litigation or encumbrance on the said lands. The vendors had said that if such a thing was found, they would return the money and compensate for the losses and damages,” Mr Kesava Rao said.

He also said they would serve a court notice for the cancellation of the said sale deed.

A few days ago, Mr Kesava Rao had issued a statement that said that Virgo Media Ltd approached him in March 2013, when he was in Congress, with all documents to sell 50 acres of land in Hafeezpur of Ibrahimpatnam mandal. He said his family agreed to a sale deed after thorough verification of the documents and registration was affected based on HC directions.
