MLAs given land to defect: Uttam

For the first time in three years, TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy launched a direct attack on Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao, alleging that the lands were offered to a few Opposition MLAs to switch over to the ruling TRS.

The TPCC chief, along with his party colleagues K. Jana Reddy, Mohd. Ali Shabbir, V. Hanumantha Rao and scores of others, visited Miyapur in the afternoon where Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy levelled the serious allegation­s.

He said that Dornakal MLA D.S. Redya Naik’s daughter was given lands in Miyapur. “It was only after a deal was struck between Goldstone Prasad and the Chief Minister that Redya Naik joined the TRS,” the TPCC chief said.

He also alleged that Kukutpally MLA Madaram Krishna Rao was given 10 acres there.

to power and government facilitate­d it. “Even Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar was given 1,100 yards land in Khammam city in lieu of his defection to TRS,” the TPCC chief said, alleging that a close follower of the CM and his relative got more of these lands.

“Even the CM’s family members also got four acres in this,” he said.

“During the Telangana agitation, the same KCR vociferous­ly said that all Telangana lands were being grabbed by Andhra rulers and politician­s. Now, what answer does he have for this kind of open looting of government lands by private persons and firms, that too the CM himself colluding with looters?’Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy asked.
