Techie held for harassing colleague, counselled

A techie working for an MNC who had been harassing his colleague was arrested. He was counselled by the SHE team of Rachakonda on Saturday. The cops also counselled 33 others on Saturday, including four minors, who were caught for eve teasing.

The SHE teams booked 34 cases including 18 petty cases and 16 FIRs.

Vipin Semwal, 27, an MNC employee, had been harassing a colleague since four months. She rejected his proposal and reported the matter to the management but he did not change. One day Semwal called her on the phone and abused her. The woman lodged a complaint with the police, and he was arrested.

In another incident, Parashuram, 20, a student from Ramanthapur, harassed a 16-year-old girl and stalked her on way to school. When she objected, he went to her home, misbehaved with her and abused her parents. Parashuram was arrested. In Ghatkesar, S. Santosh, 24, a student had been stalking an 18year-old girl since two years. On June 9, while the girl was alone at home, Santosh came to the house half naked and abused her. He also threatened her against revealing it to others. He was remanded.

In Adibhatla, a 16-year-old boy stalked a 15-year-old girl. He threatened the girl that he would upload her morphed images on the Net if she did not accept his proposal. In another incident, Madasu Ashok, 45, from Moula Ali, who is the president of RTC Colony Residents’ Association, created a WhatsApp group for colony residents and sent obscene messages to women in the group. Along with him, 29 eve teasers who were arrested were counselled.
