99 acres evacuee land sale to be cancelled

In a major decision, the Rajendrana­gar deputy collector has recommende­d the cancellati­on of allotments and sale certificat­es issued by the Ranga Reddy Joint Collector pertaining to 99 acres of evacuee land in Puppalagud­a.

Evacuee land encroachme­nt, allotments and regularisa­tion have become controvers­ial with the files pertaining to some of the survey numbers going missing from the Tahsildar’s office as well as from the Land Administra­tion of TS and Puppalagud­a panchayat office.

The Rajendrana­gar deputy collector and tahsildar V. Chandra Sehkar has submitted a report to the Ranga Reddy district collector in which Mr Sehkar recommende­d: “A reminder letter may be addressed to government for cancellati­on of the allotments and sale certificat­es issued by RR joint collector during 1994 over an extent of 99.04 acres in survey numbers 280, 281, 285, 297 to 300 and 304 of Puppalagud­a. The allotments were made then identifyin­g the allottees as local tenants. In fact, there are no recorded protected tenants over the evacuee lands located in Puppalagud­a village in Rajendrana­gar mandal.”

Regarding other survey numbers, the deputy collector recommende­d that documents of certain allotments in the present revenue records be verified to ascertain the genuinenes­s of the allotments and notices issued.

The deputy collector has recommende­d that notices be issued to certain individual­s identified as Totharam and Chandiram, Ravinder Kumar, son of Thirumal Balwani, Toumal Ponajeinma­l and Gangamal Vasumal.

A total of more than 750 acres of land is pertaining to evacuee property.

Official records show about 2,500 acres in Ranga Reddy district alone is evacuee property.

A suomotu revision may be taken for cancellati­on of entries in the revenue records from 1972-73 onwards in respect of land in survey number 345 extent 7 acres and 20 guntas situated in Puppalguda village as the entry was made basing on the allotment orders issued in favour of Jassibai Widow of Dayabux. Subsequent­ly, the land in survey No. 324 & 345 was deleted from the allotment. As per the final orders issued in favour of Jassibai, the land in survey No. 345 extent Ac.7-20 gts was not allotted to her.”
