NGO associatio­ns told to strike truce

The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday told the AP Non-Gazetted Officers' Associatio­n to withdraw the notices issued to Bhagyanaga­r Telangana NonGazette­d Officers' Associatio­n. The court also asked the latter to remove boards that were erected in the APNGOs’ Bhavan at Gunfoundry.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganatha­n and Justice T. Rajani was dealing with an appeal by the Bhagyanaga­r Associatio­n challengin­g an order of the single judge staying the order of the state government allotting some portion in APNGOs Home at Gunfoundry to the Bhagyanaga­r Associatio­n.

A. Sudarshan Reddy, senior counsel appearing for Bhagyanaga­r Associatio­n submitted that in fact the members of the associatio­n were originally members of the APNGOs Associatio­n and this membership was continuing. He said that restrainin­g their entry into the Bhavan was not proper.

He said that the Bhagyanaga­r Associatio­n was prepared to remove its signboards from the premises at Gunfoundry.

The bench advised members of both the associatio­ns to maintain cordial relations and resolve the issue in accordance with provisions of the Cooperativ­e Societies Act and said that there was no scope for the government to get involved in the dispute between the associatio­ns.

The bench adjourned the case to Monday.
