LIST OF SERIOUS ADULTERATED CASES

1 BLOOD ADULTERATION:

The LB Nagar police arrested three persons, including the director of Venus Hospital Blood Bank in connection with the blood adulteration case. They supplied blood mixed with normal saline. “They confessed to the crime. They did it in order to earn illegal profits and endangering lives of people,” police said.

2 MILK ADULTERATION:

Special Operation team booked cases in two instances. The dairy farm owners mixed milk powder in water and added this to the milk to increase the quantity. Bailable cases booked against adulteration are forwarded to the local magistrate who in turn directs the police to issue warning under Section 41(A).

3 SAUCE ADULTERATION:

Samples of sauces collected from city restaurants and food outlets by food safety inspectors revealed that most eateries are using adulterated varieties.

4 FOOD ADULTERATION:

At least 20 people were arrested by the Hyderabad police and a large amount of adulterated food manufacturing materials were seized from them on Tuesday. Seized material included 48 oxytocin injections, 16 syringes, 15.6 quintals of adulterated ginger and garlic paste, 60 adulterated honey-mixed dry fruits bottles, 96 bottles of package water, 30 kilograms of sompu and two colour boxes. From the GHMC end the corporation is authorised to issue closure notice and impose a compounding fee. For serious crimes, it is authorised to prosecute the accused.
