ADDL DCP, 3 COPS BOOKED FOR EXTORTION
The Cyberabad police has booked a case against four policemen — Rachakonda Addl DCP T. Pulinder Reddy, inspector D. Durga Prasad, SI G. Rajashekar and constable Lakshminarayana of the Raidurgam police station — on charges of kidnap, extortion, criminal trespass and criminal intimidation.
A real estate agent Qaizer Bin Abu Bakr complained to Cyberabad commissioner Sandeep Shandilya that he had been assaulted by the cops on the orders of Mr Pulinder Reddy. The matter concerned Mr Pulinder Reddy’s daughter Aishwarya Reddy, who together with her partners Mr Abu Bakr and one Mr Abdullah had made an agreement to purchase 2.7 acres from a farmer in Muthangi village in Sangareddy district for `1.1 crore.
A sum of `10 lakh was paid and the balance was to be paid in 45 days. But when they did not pay up, the farmer sold the land for a better price and returned the advance amount to them.
The police has booked a case against four policemen for kidnap, extortion, and criminal intimidation. The case pertains to a real estate deal involving Rachakonda Additional DCP T. Pulinder Reddy’s daughter Aishwarya Reddy and partners Qaizer Bin Abu Bakr and one Mr Abdullah. Since Mr Abu Bakr had invested the money he kept the returns. Ms Reddy, however, demanded her share, but since she had no share, Mr Abu Bakr did not pay her. She lodged a complaint with the Raidurgam police and a case of cheating was registered against Abu Bakr on July 25.
The next day, SI Rajashekar and constable Lakshminarayana picked up Mr Abu Bakr from his home in Narsingi and brought him to the police station, where he was beaten by cops and forced to sign five blank cheques for `60 lakh. He was then let off in the evening.
The next day, Mr Abu Bakr approached the Cyberabad Commissioner, who ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Based on the inquiry report, a case has now been registered against the four cops.
