Trafficking racket busted, 4 rescued

Seven held, kingpin had 50 websites

Cyberabad police who busted an interstate human trafficking racket and rescued four women, including a Kolkata-based model, found that the kingpin Sunjay Kumar owned around 50 websites on which he maintained a database of the women.

Once a woman joins him her details will be updated online for clients. The women travel in flights and are accommodated in star hotels. Earlier, the Cyberabad police had arrested seven persons, including a woman organiser, and rescued four women.

Police found that Sunjay operated from Kolkata. His main target were jobless models and junior artistes. Initially they trap women with a one-time offer, but once they enter the network, they ensure that they cannot go out. The moment a woman comes to them, they upload her picture on websites and social media. “Their groups are spread across the country and the woman has to travel to places wherever there is demand. Depending on demand they will be paid in cash,” a senior cop said. It was also found that the first organiser who books the woman will pay money to Sunjay and he will send her to the next person and collect money from him and pay to the woman. “Their charge ranges from `10,000 a night to `1 lakh a night. In one night the woman has to handle six persons for which they charge `10,000 from each client,” he added.

Police rescued a woman from Hotel Courtyard and raided two others but the culprits managed to escape.

While Rajesh Parwal and his wife Arti organised the racket in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, Ajay Chowdhury coordinated the airline flights of the women. Kiran and Sravan, both organisers, are brothers and operated in coordination with Rajesh.
