Excise official sent on remand
Hyderabad: Adavalli Srinivasa Reddy, assistant commissioner, distilleries, excise department, who was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act by the ACB, was remanded to 14 days in jail on Thursday. The sleuths said that the accused demanded money for transferring officers as he was in-charge of the administrative wing. Nagender Rao, ACB inspector, said, “The accused amassed wealth from transfers as he was incharge of the department . He collected monthly from liquor shops and breweries in Patancherru . Earlier, he received money from minor liquor outlets in Medchal district as he worked as excise superintendant. Assests worth `5.50 cr was seized from his home.
