Bihar natives die in gas explosion

-

On November 2, they returned to their room from work, and Deepak started preparing dinner. When he lit the stove, there was a sudden blow-out with a loud noise and all four of them who were inside the room were caught in the sudden fire that erupted. They tried to run out of the room, but the blow-out was massive and they were trapped inside.

It is surmised that the gas from the stove had been leaking and since there was no proper ventilation in the room, the gas accumulated and was ignited when the stove was lit.

Workers residing in neighbouring houses alerted the police and ambulance service. The men were taken to a nearby hospital and from there to Gandhi Hospital. All four sustained more than 85 per cent burns.

Deepak, Deepak Kumar and Nandal succumbed on Tuesday, while Ramkumar continues to be critical and is under observation for the next 48 hours.

A case for suspicious death has been registered and is being investigated. Crime investigation department arrested two individuals for operating obscene websites on film stars and seized four laptops, two phones and other incriminating material from their possession. The accused were identified as Thakor Maheshkumar Jayanthiji and Thakor Balusinh, both natives of Ahmedabad.

The arrest was made based on a complaint from the Movie Artists Association (MAA). The accused were involved in publishing morphed obscene images of film actresses on their websites.

“The accused resorted to the crime to fetch money from each like they recieved on their website. They earned `25,000 to `35,000 per month. During the interrogation, they confessed that they do not know Telugu but could identify the popular artists of all the film industries and publish stories on them along with their obscene photos on the websites,” the police said.

The accused were brought to the city on a transit warrant and sent on remand.
