No change in SSC, Inter, degree exams
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Saturday said that the SSC, Intermediate public exams in March and degree/PG exams of various universities in March/April would be held as scheduled.
There was no question of postponing these exams in the wake of ‘boycott call’ given by managements of private colleges demanding release of fee reimbursement arrears, he added.
The Joint Action Committee of private education institutions from KG to PG on Friday gave a call to boycott all exams to protest against the failure of the government in releasing fee reimbursement arrears.
Mr Srihari reviewed with the education department officials the measures to be taken to ensure smooth conduct of the exams as scheduled in the wake of boycott call.
Managements had threatened that they would not give their premises for exam centres and also not deploy their teachers and staff for invigilation and valuation works.
Majority of the centres were in private schools and colleges. Mr Srihari directed officials to take measures to set up exam centres in all the government high schools, zilla parishad schools, Kasturba Gandhi girls schools, model schools, residential schools of BCs, SCs, STs, minorities and universities.
He also asked officials to deploy government staff from various departments for invigilation duties temporarily and utilise the services of only government teachers for evaluation of answer sheets.
The minister also wanted officials to come out with an action plan on the decisions taken at the review meeting.
