Bachupally police have registered a case of forgery and cheating and started a probe.

ACP Kukatpally, N. Bhujanga Rao, said that the case is under investigation and all angles and connections of various persons with the suspects are being probed. Damodar Rao, a businessman from Kukatpally owns the land in survey numbers 140 and 141 in Bachupally village.

He recently came to know that land in Bachupally has been divided into plots and was up for sale. When he made further inquiries, he came to know that the plots were on the lands owned by him.

He also discovered that the persons who have encroached on his land had re-registered the land in their names using forged documents and all this was done more than two decades ago.

The same people had encroached on land at Suraram, Subhashnagar, Gajularamaram, Bowrampet, Bahadurpally and Bhagyalakshmi colony in the Quthbullapur assembly constituency.

A part of Mr Rao’s land had already been converted into layouts and sold. It is revealed that the two men involved in the Bachupally scam had replaced the original documents at the Kukatpally sub-registrar’s office with false ones in their names. DC CORESPONDENT HYDERABAD, FEB. 20
