Youth cheated on job promise, kills himself

HR officials of reputed firm had assured him of a job

BTECH GRADUATE M. Ganga Mahesh had allegedly paid lakhs of rupees to Tech Mahindra company’s HR profession­als who promised him a backdoor entry job, but was later cheated.

THE DECEASED wrote a suicide note mentioning the names of the men involved, and shared his plight before taking the extreme step, police said.

Depressed over being duped by HR profession­als of a reputed software firm, a 25-year-old BTech graduate committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Kukatpally.

According to police, M. Ganga Mahesh, a former software employee, had paid lakhs of rupees to HR profession­als said to be of Tech Mahindra who promised a job through backdoor entry and cheated him.

He wrote a suicide note mentioning the names of the men involved and shared his plight before taking the extreme step, police said.

“He wrote in the letter that he paid `20,000 to Nageshwar Rao and `1 lakh to Srinivas, both HR profession­als of Tech Mahindra, and also `1.1 lakh to B. Naresh, a mediator, who promised him a job via backdoor entry,” said Kukatpally Sub-Inspector P. Anil Kumar

He added that the men had then asked him to shift to Bengaluru, where he stayed over for about three months.

“They kept giving excuses for three months and made him stay him there, after which he came back to city. After a month of searching for jobs and failing, he committed suicide,” the official added.

Police booked a case under suspicious death and was probing the matter. “We tried contact the names mentioned but in vain. We will investigat­e further and proceed,” police said.
