CHARAS SEIZED, 2 MEN ARRESTED
The Central Zone team along with Tappachabutra police arrested two men in possession of charas in Tappachabutra on Wednesday. About 1 kg of the narcotic substance was seized from them along with a bike and two mobiles. The arrested accused were identified as Mohammed Arshad, 28, a carpenter from Tappachabutra, originally a native of U.P., and Mohammed Aleem, 28, also a carpenter from Patencheru and a native of U.P. too
Both of them had migrated to Hyderabad about 10 years back to eke out a living. They started working as carpenters. But they did not do too well in their chosen profession and after suffering some losses, they hatched a plan to sell charas to earn easy money and lessen their financial burden.
“As per their plan, Arshad took an assurance from Aleem that he would arrange the stash to sell to his known customers and for which Arshad would give him a good commission. Arshad used to bring charas from his native place, Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. On 22 February, he informed his mother, Shamshad Begum, that he was facing financial problems and requested her to bring charas as there was a demand for it in Hyderabad,” said the DCP, commissioner's Task Force, Mr P. Radha Krishna Rao. Accordingly, his mother brought 1 kg of charas and handed it over to her son and went back to UP.
