GHMC TOLD TO DISPOSE LRS APPLICATIO­NS SOON

The municipal administra­tion and urban developmen­t principal secretary, A. Aravind Kumar, on Friday, conducted a review meeting and instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporatio­n officials to take up the disposal of Layout Regularisa­tion Scheme (LRS) applicatio­ns immediatel­y.

The process includes scrutiny, issue of fee intimation letter, processing of shortfall submitted documents, issue of proceeding­s, etc. He instructed the zonal city planners to ensure that the applicatio­ns are disposed within the specified time frame since the last date of processing is April 30. He instructed the zonal commission­ers to organise LRS melas on April 28 and April 30 and asked the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) to extend their support for any technical assistance required.

Arvind Kumar has interacted with officials and had a detailed discussion­s with them regarding the budget and annual accounts, revenue and expenditur­e, improvemen­t of the GHMC parks and various other civic related issues. He has instructed them to resolve the grievances received from petitioner­s and citizens on a priority basis to garner a good reputation for the organisati­on. He asked them to focus on getting maximum revenue from online/ digitalisa­tion and minimise cash collection and take up various avenues to improve revenue collection. He also asked the officials to concentrat­e on social media with a dedicated team to improve grievance redressal.
