Woman sedated, raped by landlord

A 20-year-old living as a paying guest in the house of a private employee was sedated and raped by the latter, who also recorded a video of the act when she was unconscious.

The accused has been arrested by the LB Nagar police following a complaint from the girl. The accused Anil Reddy, 35, was threatened her that he would attack her with acid and upload the videos online if she does not marry him.

The incident took place at LB Nagar in June. Hailing from the same village, Anil Reddy, a realtor had offered the victim and her younger brother his house. The girl is a beautician, while her brother works for a private company.

For the last one year, Anil and his wife had some issues and his wife went to her maternal house. The siblings however continued to stay at Anil’s house and he took advantage of the situation.

“One day, Anil bought soft drinks laced with sedatives and forced the girl to consume it. Anil then took naked pictures and videos of hers and also tied the nuptial thread and recorded it. He then blackmailed and raped the victim. He also started threatening that he would upload pictures of the victim online and throw acid on her and her family members, if they marriage her off to someone else,” said SHE team in-charge, additional DCP S.K. Saleema.

The girl could not bear the harassment and approached the SHE team. Subsequently, a case was registered against Anil under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC, and he was arrested, the official said.
