Decomposed body found under debris

-

The decomposed body of an unidentified person was found in debris at Sanathnagar on Wednesday morning. The person is believed to have died around three days back. The police have not ruled out the possibility of murder.

A case of suspicious death under Section 174 of CrPC has been registered.

At around 8 am on Wednesday, when the workers of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation were cleaning the debris dumped under the flyover in Bharath Nagar, they found the body.

They immediately alerted the local police who rushed to the spot along with the clues team and dog squad for inspection. The police recovered the body and sent it for the postmortem examination at the Gandhi Hospital Mortuary.

Sanathnagar inspector E. Venkat Reddy said that the body recovered was that of a male. “Based on its decomposed state, it is believed that death could have occurred about three days ago. No significant external injuries could be found due to its decomposed state and also due to the debris on it. A case of suspicious death has been registered for the probe,” the inspector said.

Responding to a query, the inspector said, “The investigation is on. There are two possible ways the incident may have occurred. One is that the man was killed and the body was dumped along with the debris to hide it or he could have died on the spot and without noticing it debris was dumped over the body. However, an autopsy report from will give a lead.”
