HOME GUARD ON ELEC­TION DUTY DIES

A Home Guard from Gopala­pu­ram po­lice sta­tion died on Mon­day while un­der­go­ing treat­ment.

The man col­lapsed dur­ing elec­tion duty fol­low­ing a seizure at­tack and re­ceived head in­juries, fol­low­ing which he was rushed to Gandhi Hos­pi­tal.

The de­ceased was iden­ti­fied as Brah­machary, 43, who was on elec­tion duty on Sun­day evening at St. Joseph School.

“He was sta­tioned at Booth No. 41 of Se­cun­der­abad con­stituency when he had a seizure at­tack and fell on the road. He sus­tained head in­juries and was im­me­di­ately shifted to Gandhi hos­pi­tal for treat­ment. He died while un­der­go­ing treat­ment on Mon­day af­ter­noon,” po­lice said.

Based on a com­plaint, a case was booked un­der Sec­tion 174 (sus­pi­cious death) of CrPC and the body was shifted for post-mortem.
