State Elec­tion Com­mis­sioner V. Nagi Reddy said that voter slips for the pan­chayat polls can be down­loaded from the TS poll ap­pli­ca­tion.

The slips can be down­loaded by en­ter­ing the dis­trict name and the elec­tors photo iden­tity card num­ber.

Mr Nagi Reddy in­spected the ar­range­ments in Suryapet dis­trict on Sun­day.

He held a re­view meet­ing with the nodal of­fi­cers re­gard­ing the ar­range­ments for the elec­tions.

Speak­ing to me­di­a­per­sons, Mr Nagi Reddy said, “We have com­pleted all the ar­range­ments for the first phase of the Pan­chayat elec­tions which is sched­uled for Jan­uary 21. Mak­ing pan­chay­ats unan­i­mous will be con­sid­ered as a crime.”

Laud­ing the ef­forts of staff, he said, “The Elec­tion Com­mis­sion is very happy with the fact that the em­ploy­ees are not hes­i­tat­ing to work even on hol­i­days.”

The EC will take ac­tion on those who vi­o­lates the elec­tion code. We are also tak­ing up sev­eral aware­ness pro­grammes to in­crease the vot­ing per­cent­age, he fur­ther said. Mean­while, sev­eral pan­chay­ats re­main unan­i­mous as with­drawal of the nom­i­na­tions ended on Sun­day.
