Realtor uses HMDA logo to sell ‘illegal’ plots

- DC CORRESPONDENT

With the real estate sector picking up pace, several companies have been selling plots in illegal layouts on the city outskirts. They have even printed brochures with the HMDA logo to claim that they have approvals and mislead buyers.

According to highly placed sources in HMDA, Chandra Group represented by its director Chandra Reddy had undertaken the residential layout development illegally without obtaining permission. The unauthorised layout is spread over Survey No.s

594, 595, 596, 597, 613, 614,

615, 616 and 617 of Turkapally, Shamirpet.

Sources said the group had violated zonal regulations under the residential layout in conservation zone, where residential activities were not permitted.

Sources said that the realtor had printed a brochure with the HMDA logo stating that it was a ‘HMDA proposal’ without obtaining any approval. Even though the realtor did not sell any plots, his intentions were clearly to cheat the public, the source said.

Asked about it, a senior planning official said that the issue had come to their notice and they had written to Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to initiate criminal action against the company only for misguiding the public but also using HMDA’s logo. He said that a complaint had also been lodged with Shamirpet police station.
