Telangana state Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi has asked officials to submit the details of water required for 59 industrial clusters located in the state along with maps by January 27. He told the officials that the estimate of water requiremen­t should be done keeping in view the demand in the next 20 to 25 years.

Dr Joshi held a review meeting of Mission Bhagiratha on Monday at the Secretaria­t. He said the government was building Pharma City, National Investment and Manufactur­e Zone, Medical Devices Park, Micro Small and Medium Enterprise­s, Electronic Manufactur­ing cluster and Chandan Valley Industrial Park under the Telangana State Industrial and Infrastruc­ture Corporatio­n (TSIIC).

He directed the officials to prepare a short-, medium- and long-term action plan of requiremen­t of raw and treated water for these industrial clusters.

Dr Joshi said that the TSIIC should make internal arrangemen­ts for supply of water in bulk for these clusters through Mission Bhagiratha.

Dr Joshi said that on the directions of Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao, 12,755 gram panchayats, 118 urban local bodies, 23,968 habitation­s got drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha.

The chief secretary said for the villages outside the Outer Ring Road, water should be supplied through Mission Bhagiratha and asked metro water works officials to speed up the work to supply water to the villages, housing colonies, gated communitie­s and urban local bodies inside the Outer Ring Road.
