11K VOTER SLIPS DOWNLOADED VIA TE-POLL

The first phase of Gram Panchayat elections saw a spike in online content consumptio­n with people embracing Te-Poll app like never before.

Voters downloaded 11,105 voter slips through the mobile app and 1,87,163 through the Web Portal, a download of 5021 GB data approximat­ely.

Internet has evidently penetrated into the Gram Panchayat.

The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) felt that the Te-poll software was very useful for the Officers, the candidates and the voters in preparing electoral rolls, their downloadin­g by candidates and generation of voter slips by the voters.

The Te-poll software provided an opportunit­y to contesting candidates for filing nomination­s online. This facility was used by 357 Sarpanch candidates and 526 ward members.

The State Election Commission requests the candidates in future elections to utilize this opportunit­y and make the nomination process very simple and efficient.

Meanwhile, the State Election Commission reported the successful completion of the first Phase Gram Panchayat Elections 2018-19 involving 4,470 Gram Panchayats and 39,628 Wards.

“The Election Commission takes the opportunit­y to congratula­te the nearly 1,50,000 government officers, Staff and police personnel for working round the clock including on festival days and making the process a success”, the SEC said.

The Second and Third Phase of the polls will be observed on January 25 and January 30 respective­ly.
