- DC CORRESPONDENT

Telangana Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy on Tuesday appealed to the defeated MLAs of all parties to vacate the quarters to enable their allotment to the newly-elected members of the House.

Mr Reddy inspected the newly-constructed MLA quarters in Hyderguda of the city. While speaking to reporters during his visit, he said that the building complex had 120 apartments each of 2,400 sq ft apart from the 12-storeyed complex built for servants’ quarters.

He said that in addition to the two buildings, another commercial complex had also been constructed where a gym and other amenities would be provided for legislators, apart from a shopping complex that would come up on it.

He said 45 apartments had also been constructed in a complex for the Assembly staff and each of the 120 apartments had a visitors’ space, an office room, a drawing room, a master bedroom and two more bedrooms. It has a kitchen and also storage space.

The Speaker explained that on the ground floor of the complex, 23 cabins had also been constructed for visitors to meet their MLAs concerned and a three-storied cellar had space for 240 vehicles to be parked.

He said since the construction of the building was completed and it was ready for occupation, an appointment would be taken with chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for its inauguration.
