- DC CORRESPONDENT

The son of a daily wage labourer has got an opportunity to audition for the popular internationally viewed TV programme ‘America’s Got Talent’. P. Kranthi Kumar, 27, of Suryapet has been selected for the audition which will be held in Los Angeles in the US.

Kranthi’s talent is performing stunts such as putting his hands in heated oil, grinding his nose with a drilling machine and inserting 30 knives in his mouth. He has performed in several shows in India including in ‘India’s Got Talent’. In one episode, he cooks mirchi bajji in boiling oil and then instead of using a spoon to remove it, he uses his hand. He has been known to spill hot oil on his body during the stunt. He can swallow up to 32 knives, beating a Guinness record of 25 knives.

He has got his chance to perform before an international audience thanks to former minister G. Jagadish Reddy, who provided financial assistance to the family village Addagudur. His father is a mestri (incharge mason) and his mother a daily wage worker. He will be auditioning on February 9, in Los Angeles.
