PIL TO TRANSFER NUMAISH FIRE CASE TO CB-CID

- DC CORRESPONDENT

A PIL has been filed before the Telangana High Court seeking to prosecute the executive body of the Exhibition Society for not complying with fire safety measures. The PIL also sought to transfer the fire accident case to CBCID or SIT (Special Investigation Team) for further probe.

Advocate Khaja Aijazuddin, filed the petition mentioning the failure of the executive body in taking proper measures to hold exhibition and sought directions to close the exhibition, which was reopened after a fire accident.

In the petition, he mentioned that the fire services Act warrants to obtain NOC by complying with fire measures for every establishment of shops, buildings in the exhibition.

However, with some high political influence the executive body of the society did not bother to get permission from fire services and the officers concerned did not push them to get permission, even in the exhibition where around 2,500 stalls were set up and thousands of people visit every day, he added.
