HMT’s progress in export field
BANGALORE, Feb. 7.
The slump in the engineering industry which continues for the third year in succession, has brought in its wake results which could be termed as disappointing for the state-owned Hindustan Machine Tools.
For the first time since it went into commercial production 12 years ago in 1956-57, HMT incurred a net loss of Rs. 65.95 lakhs. The report makes out one encouraging point and that is, “to combat the present recessionary tendencies, HMT adapted aggressive marketing techniques to promote the sale of machine tools.”
