CAI trims cotton output estimates to 33 m bales

Cotton Association of India (CAI) has estimated cotton crop for 2018-19 season at 33 million bales (1 bale = 170Kgs each, which is lower by

500,000 bales than its previous estimate, the report said. Last month, CAI projected 33.5 million bales of cotton output for 2018-19 crop season. CAI has reduced the crop estimate for Telangana by 250,000 bales, Andhra Pradesh by

50,000 bales and Karnataka by

200,000 bales.
