TWO WOMEN RES­CUED FROM BROTHEL

Two women from Ma­ha­rash­tra and Kar­nataka were res­cued from a brothel run un­der the guise of a sa­loon at Miya­pur and four per­sons in­clud­ing two women were ar­rested by the po­lice on Sun­day.

Act­ing on a tip-off, the Miya­pur po­lice raided Lavish Fam­ily Sa­loon at SVH Plaza in Miya­pur and found that two women were traf­ficked from Kar­nataka and Ma­ha­rash­tra, and were forced into the flesh trade.

One Koti Swamy, who owns the par­lour, had em­ployed four per­sons — Mahesh, Nikhil SA, Pooja Ramesh­war and Jo­hara Begum — to run the sa­loon and or­gan­ise the brothel, about 10 days ago.

Dur­ing the raids, the cus­tomers fled away on see­ing the po­lice­men. The ac­cused con­fessed to hav­ing com­mit­ted the of­fence.

A case has been reg­is­tered un­der Im­moral Traf­fick­ing (Pre­ven­tion) Act against the ac­cused and the vic­tims were sent to a res­cue home for re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and care, said the Miya­pur po­lice. Cops seized `12,630 cash, con­dom pack­ets and mo­bile phones from the ac­cused.
