Tea seller taunt on PM backfires

- DC CORRESPONDENT

A placard at AP Bhavan placed by TD workers during Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Deeksha evoked sharp criticism from Twitterati. The placard mentions the humble beginnings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a tea seller. The placard says that instead of returning the used teacup to the chaiwala, people had given him the country. The placard was in Hindi.

In-charge of BJP’s national Information & Technology, Amit Malviya said “Placard at AP Bhavan where Chandrababu Naidu is apparently sitting on protest... Opposition never misses an opportunity to target PM’s humble social origins.”

Several twitter users also reacted sharply to TD’s message. A twitter user said, “Shameful, it’s a kind of abuse to the people of the nation as well. We have a right to choose our PM. Who are they to judge people’s decision?”(sic)

Another user tweeted, “This is the real face of Chandrababu and his party. This is how they have been dealing with telugu people for decades. #shame” One tweet read, “Sometimes I really wonder, what happened to intellectuals. They don’t have anything against @narendramodi ji than hatred.” (sic) “Tdp is a power greedy. They always gives preference to power, nothing else,” said a tweet.
