Use Haj subsidy for students: Asad

Hyderabad: Posing a direct question to the Centre in his Budget speech in the Parliament, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, asked,

“`500 crore of Haj subsidy has been removed by the Centre. Where has this money gone?” Mr Owaisi alleged that 85 lakh Muslim students are denied scholarship every year. He said, “Only 30 per cent girl students are given scholarships. The scholarships for SCs have been reduced by 60 per cent, for minorities it is

23 per cent and for BCs it is

17 per cent. He said the `500 crore removed from Haj subsidy must be used for the benefit of minority students.”
