NEW TEACHERS ONLY AFTER 2 ENTRANCE EXAMS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

New appointment of teachers in schools can be carried out only after they write two entrance tests and complete the training according to the new guidelines issued.

The eligibility test is for primary and secondary school teachers and will be implemented from the next academic year.

Telangana Progressive Teachers Federation (TPTF) stated that the move is aimed at improving the teaching cadre but the appointments have to be carried out by the government.

TPTF general secretary M. Sreenivaslu said, “The government is keen to improve the quality of faculty which is good but they must ensure that there are permanent staff.

Currently, 20,000 posts in the teaching section in government schools are empty.

Of these 16,800 have been appointed on temporary basis but they have not been allotted the schools.

The training will be carried out from March and if the schools are not allotted it will not happen which will again raise issues of standard of teaching.”

The existing teachers are not going to get affected but the new ones who will be appointed will have to clear the tests and the training programme before joining in.

AIMED TO improve the teaching cadre , the eligibility test is for primary and secondary school teachers and will be implemented from the next academic year.
