Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday asked the party cadre to convince the people that the next Lok Sabha elections are between the Congress and the BJP and they should make Mr Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister of India.

the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “There were multiple reasons, including EVM tampering and deficiencies in the poll processes, behind the Congress’ defeat in the Assembly elections. The cadre should be extra vigilant to prevent them from repeating in Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

The TPCC chief added,

“The list of failed and unfulfilled promises made by Mr Modi is too long and this should be explained to every citizen of Telangana state. The Modi government is the first regime in independent India which is dividing people on religious lines. Targeting innocent people on the basis of their food habits or dress style was unheard of in previous governments. The BJP government has turned the atmosphere across the country into too volatile and sensitive. This can be changed only if Mr Gandhi becomes the next PM.”

In-charge of Telangana Congress affairs R.C. Khuntia said the TRS and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would have no relevance after Lok Sabha polls. “Even if Mr Rao wins all 16 Lok Sabha seats, he will not be able to form the government at the Centre. He will certainly join or support the BJP-led front. Therefore, people should be briefed that voting for the TRS was like voting for the BJP,” he said.
