- DC CORRESPONDENT

Malavath Poorna added another feather in her cap by conquering Mt. Aconcagua, the highest mountain peak in the Southern and Western Hemisphere on Friday.

Hailing from a poor tribal community where her parents working as agricultural labourers in Nizamabad, Poorna on Friday became the world’s first and youngest tribal woman to scale four highest mountain peaks located in four continents. Holding the Tricolour, she already conquered Mt. Everest (Asia), Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt. Elbrus (Europe) and now Mt. Aconcagua (South America).

Now, the youngster, who is pursuing her undergraduation course at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Kamareddy, has set a new target for herself.

“My goal is to make Telangana and India proud by becoming the youngest tribal woman in the world to scale the seven tallest mountain peaks across all the seven continents,” she says.
