Engg wing shuns use of TEAM app
Despite the launch of the Task Electronic Assessment and Monitoring Application (TEAM app) by the former Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister K. Taraka Rama Rao in August last, none of the officials is using it.
TEAM is a web and tabbased application. It is an online work recording and monitoring system which has to be used by the engineers for accountability. However, none of the officials was using them claiming that they did not receive any official order from the government to enter the progress of ongoing works online.
According to a GHMC official, the TEAM application

The official further said that even though the exercise in making five different corporations was in the pipeline, it would aimed at overcoming the present challenges of physical measurement of books. He said that dynamic reporting helped in smart monitoring of work, efficient record management, navigation integrated app for engineers to go to the location of inspection, geo-tagging of work which would avoid duplication, and much more.
However, engineering wing officials were reluctant to use the application since it would double their work to maintain manual and online records.
On the flip side, the IT wing officials claimed that the idea of TEAM application was only to curb the irregularities in the engineering wing but not to trouble them.

The official pointed out that if common policies were chalked out prior to the formation of the new corporations, it would bring governance closer to the public and speed development of the city.
