RESPECT VERDICT

MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said the election results would alienate the Muslims (Muslims to get alienated: Owaisi, May 24).

Instead of being supportive of the mandate, it is regrettable that he kicked up the issue of alienation. Before he accuses the BJP of alienating Muslims, he must ponder over how much he and his brother have contributed to bring in unity among the people of this country. Sreekanth Hyderabad

The results have shown that the NDA has made a significant impression on the Telangana electorate. The inroads made by the BJP are significant because they have been able to wrest the seats from sitting MPs, one of them being the CM’s daughter. The TRS should take this as a wake up call. The people having given his government a second term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has more responsibilities to shoulder. He has to learn lessons from his past.
