Suhaib, Kundeti, Ravindra punch above their weight
It’s just the third fight night at the ongoing Deccan Conquest series and the excitement is going up week after week. After some exceptional performances by A. Shiva Yadav, Kundeti Raju, Ranbir Singh, Romajit Singh, Ravindra Yadav, Vijay Kumar, Mohd. Suhaib earlier this month, eight new faces were added to the roster on Saturday night as Trijot Singh (54 Kgs), Thingbai Johnson (61 kgs), Zonuntluanga (57 kgs), Ajit Singh (68 kgs), E. Malemnganba (68 kgs), Dayananda (68 kgs), Mani Patel (90+ Kgs), Anoop Naidu (90+ Kgs) debut in the third fight.
In bouts on saturday, Trijot Singh locked heads with G. Vijay Kumar in the Bantamweight category beating him with points 36-40, 38-38, 37-39 while in the featherweight category, Himanshu Singh emerged winner taking down Pushkar Bhosle on the basis of points 40-36, 39-37, 40-36 and Zonuntluanga leading in a close contest with Ravindra Yadav 36-40, 3739, 39-37. Johnson defeated Pasham Suresh by unanimous decision 36-40, 37-39,
36-40 and Ashini Kumar beat Robinson with 36-40,
37-39, 38-38 points in the lightweight category as Anoop Naidu knocked out Manikanta Patel in the last fight of the night.
