2K ACRES TO GO UNDER HMDA LAND POOLING
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to acquire 2,051 acres in Pratapsingaram and Korremula in Ghatkesar mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, and in Mokila in Ranga Reddy district, under the land pooling scheme (LPS) in Phase-1.
HMDA commissioner, Arvind Kumar ,said the government had approved of the HMDA land pooling rules, 2017 to promote and facilitate planned development in the capital’s metropolitan region.
In a press communique, he said that in order to promote efficient, sustainable and equitable development in urban areas, the LPS is an efficient mechanism for planned development, in accordance with the master plan.
He said that the LPS gives an option to farmers to become partners in the development process and they are not deprived of their land.
Explaining the salient features of the scheme, he said that under the LPS, farmers will get the brand ‘Developed by HMDA,’ increased market value compared to other lands, well-serviced housing plots with world class facilities like water, electricity, sewerage disposal, parks, sewerage treatment plants (STPs) and they can sell or build in accordance with their requirements. He said that the landowners will get reconstituted land from the HMDA which enhances value and saleability and proportionate well-developed land with proper access in lieu of irregular land without access.
