Vishal, Varun allround performers

Jahnavi Junior College triumphed over Gowtham Model School clinching the Hyderabad Cricket Associatio­n’s U-16 one-day league title here on Friday.

In the final, Nitin Sai Yadav performed well for Jahnavi as he hit 72 not out while his team posted 182 for 2 replying to Gowtham Model School’s 178 in 50 overs.

Meanwhile, A. Dheeraj Vishal of Rakesh XI and Y. Sai Varun of Concorde CC were star performers as they turned in allround performanc­es in the two-day league matches.

Gopi, Sai Charan, Abhinesh Tiwari, Md

Minah Uddin, Raghavendr­a Satwik and Omer hit centuries while, S. V. Santosh, B. Suresh, M. Ritwik, Atul Vyas, N. Naresh, Neel C, Shaik Majid, Dhanush, J. Rohith Kumar, Trishank Gupta and P. Abhishek Reddy came up with performanc­es with the ball.

Dheeraj hit an unbeaten 203 off 226 balls with 25 boundaries and six sixes to his credit to help Rakesh XI post 319 in 81.2 overs. Later, he also scalped seven wickets while conceding 84 runs to consign Elegant CC to defeat.

In another match, Varun hit 135 off 123 balls with 18 boundaries to help Concorde CC post 382 in 70.4 overs even as Naresh took five wickets. Later, Varun also scalped eight wickets while conceding 44 runs to bowl Aggarwal Senior CC out for a paltry 90.

Gopi of Charminar CC hit 133 off 71 balls as teammate Trishank Gupta turned in an allround performanc­e. He hit a decent 85 and later took five Mahmood CC wickets while his team posted 356 for 9.

Santosh of Mega City was another bowler who put up a splendid show as he snared six wickets although his wicket haul went in vain as Mega City lost to Galaxy.

Minah hit 113 while Rohit took five wickets to bowl Nizamabad District to victory over Venus Cybertech, for whom Ritwik also took a six-wicket haul. Venus Cybertech replied to

Nizamabad’s 355 with 210 for 8.

Abinesh and Neel performed well for Zinda Tilismath. The former hit

112 while the latter took five wickets for 38 runs against Deccan Wanderers for whom Shaik Majid took a five-for. Replying to Zinda Tilismath’s 288/8, Deccan Wanderers were out for 69.

Sai Charan of Warangal District was the other centurion. He hit an unbeaten

140 as teammate Suresh scalped six HUCC wickets. Atul Vyas of HUCC also took five wickets in a losing cause.

Raghavendr­a (116) of Oxford Blues and Omer

(100) of Crown CC were the other batsmen who hit centuries.
