Varun, Sriniketh, Abhiram, Arjun, Arhaan and Ayaan shine
Varun Tej, Sriniketh and D. Abhiram scored a century each while Arjun Reddy, Arhaan Satwalekar and Ayaan Mohammed Ahmed came good with the ball in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Under 14 inter-schools and districts tournament matches played in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Varun Tej struck 154 in 133 balls to propel Gowtham Model School to 285/4 against Chirec International School. Later, Ayaan Mohammed Ahmed took 4 for 6, including a wicket off the first ball that completed his hat-trick — having taken two wickets off the last two balls in the previous match against Karimnagar District on
Wednesday — as Chirec were all out for a mere 75.
Arjun Reddy of Hyderabad School of Excellance took 5 for 9 as Karimnagar were bowled out for 69, a total HSE surpassed with six wickets in hand.
Arhaan Satwalekar of All Saints continued his good form to take 5 for 19 but his side (73) lost to
Kakatiya Group of Schools (74/7).
K. Sriniketh of Vignan Vidyalaya made 104 as his team (223/5) beat Oakridge International School Gachibowli
(202/6).
Abhiram was the other performer. He made an unbeaten 100 as St Andrews Bowenpally overhauled Bhavans Sri Ramkrishna Vidyalaya’s
138 without losing a wicket.
