INDIA’S 1ST nCOV CASE IN KERALA TURNS NEGATIVE

The latest laboratory result of country’s first novel Coronaviru­s patient has been found to be negative. The samples of the patient, a medical student from Wuhan China, who is currently admitted to isolation ward of Thrissur Medical College was found negative after tests at the virology institute.

The government on Sunday had announced the result of the fifth sample sent for lab examinatio­n. The result of remaining sample which was sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV) on February 8, is awaited. If that test is also found to be negative then the patient will be discharged from the hospital. The student was admitted to the medical college on January 30.

Apart from the Thrissur patient, Kerala had reported a positive case each in Alappuzha and Kasargod respective­ly. These are the only positive cases in India so far.
