Royal confusion in Bangalore side
The social media handle of the Royal Challengers Bangalore took the cricketing world by storm by removing their profile picture and posts from various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on Thursday.
The RCB skipper, Virat Kohli was himself taken aback and took to Twitter to express his surprise at the recent development. The 31-year-old tweeted, “Posts disappear and the captain isn’t informed. @rcbtweets, let me know if you need any help.”
The social media handles, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, of the RCB have also removed their display and cover pictures while the name has been changed to just ‘Royal Challengers’. Their official handle —@royalchallengersbangalore — on the popular photo-sharing platform shows just six posts.
The recent developments have come into effect after the Benglauru-based franchise signed Muthoot Fincorp as their title sponsor for IPL 2020. The Virat Kohli-led side on Tuesday, announced a three-year partnership with Muthoot Fincorp Ltd — a part of the Muthoot Pappachan Group — also known as Muthoot Blue.
As per their partnership agreement, there will be a “jersey-front” logo placement, which will be prominent on the playing and training jersey, in-stadium integration at home matches, digital and other highly visible media platforms, a release had stated.
Earlier AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal too expressed their shock over the developments. “Arey @rcbtweets, what googly is this? Where did your profile pic and Instagram posts go?” Chahal tweeted on his way back from New Zealand.
