MANAGER BOOKED FOR HARASSMENT

A complaint was lodged against divisional manager Gadipa Nagaiah of Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd, for alleged harassment.

According to the police, Mr Pankaj Khanna, DGM of the Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd, regional office, a complaint was received from a branch manager and a business centre incharge, alleging harassment by the accused. He forwarded the complaint to the regional committee constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place Act, 2013.

On Sunday evening, Nagaiah, allegedly barged into the regional office premises along with some other employees and started abusing all employees particularly the women who were present at that time.

He allegedly threatened the staff and officials with dire consequences stating that some of the employees will be stabbed. Nagaiah allegedly pulled an employee, Mr G. Venkatacharyulu, by the shirt and slapped him. Based on the complainant, the Punjagutta police booked a case of trespassing and outraging the modesty of women against Nagaiah.
