Covid-19 toll climbs to 2,592

Beijing, Feb. 24: The

Covid-19 toll climbed to

2,592 while the number of confirmed cases increased to over 77,000, officials said Monday.

The country’s National Health Commission said it received reports of 409 new confirmed cases of the novel Covid-19 infection and 150 deaths from

31 provincial-level regions on Sunday.

The confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland have reached 77,150. Sunday saw 1,846 people walk out of hospital.

Meanwhile, the ChinaWorld Health Organisation joint expert team visited Hubei province, epicentre of the outbreak to conduct field investigations.
